How to not spend money
I saved the most when working form home on my car maintenance and up keep. Some weeks I put less than 10 miles on my wheels. Less milage on the weekly drive commute to work will also save you money on your car insurance. Call your carrier and see about changing the mileage in your policy. Working form home urges me to walk more. So I walk as much as possible. This helps keep me focused and gives me a break from thinking about work. Also the time I save commuting to work opens a time slot for so many other things to accomplish. This can include working out, cleaning house, writing a blog. This list can be endless. Since we are not putting money in the coffee or buying snacks from the vending machine every week, you can keep that money in your bank account. Not leaving the house to go to work everyday will help you to save money in my bank account. Keep that money saved seprate from your bills you spend. Start the savings account The reason for starting my blog was due to my life style change. Covid 19 not only changed how I lived but the way I see the world. I can remember the day I spent my last dollar and started saving my first red cent. I still have it I Think. In 2020 I started to DIY everything. I made my own Clothes, makeup. I canned my own food. I DIY'd seasonal decor (of course), some furniture and laundry detergent. Because I was able to make all of these necessities I made plenty to share, then I started getting donations. Learning to do more things that does not cost money was so easy. I even saved money on my electric by switching to LED light bulbs and using smart plugs. You will find these product pay for themselves in the long run.
How do I keep money in my pocket?
First and foremost pay yourself. Make sure the money you are saving is in an account that is separate from any accounts or bills that can draft for payment.
Next, Lower your bills. Only make yourself bills that are necessary. And keep that money aside for the amount that you owe. This include credit card debt. Consolidate as many bills as you can to make one lump sum payment.
Get rid of subscriptions you do not use or need. Use the http://Rocket money app to find all the subscriptions you have and remove ones you do not use.
Using coupons and reward cards to save money buying your daily needs. I think of the money I save using coupons gives me more money to buy something else I may need.
Most important if you have a side job, whatever it may be, keep that money separate from your steady income. I found using that money first helps pay my savings the most.
